• Highlighted text and prompts you choose to send to ChatGPT through HighlightGPT (ask, explain, translate, or memorize).
• ChatGPT responses shown in the side panel, and any items you manually save to ChatGPT memory.
• Basic extension usage data such as feature usage, settings, language, and error logs to keep the experience reliable.
• Upgrade or entitlement status for Pro features (for example, purchase confirmation identifiers).
• Support communications, including the email address and content you provide.

How We Use Data

• Provide highlight-to-ask workflows and show answers in a side panel without interrupting your main chat.
• Send selected content to ChatGPT so it can generate the answers you request.
• Save key responses to ChatGPT memory when you choose to do so, including Pro-only unlimited saving.
• Operate the extension, remove ads for Pro users, and deliver early-access features.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability with aggregated diagnostics.

Data Sharing

HighlightGPT is designed to be privacy-first. Answers are generated only by ChatGPT, and your selected content is sent directly to ChatGPT using its native web experience. We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate the extension (such as payments, analytics, or support), under confidentiality obligations.

Retention

We retain data only as long as needed to provide the extension, fulfill the purposes described above, and comply with legal obligations. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer required.

Your Choices

• You control what you highlight and send to ChatGPT, and whether to save responses to memory.
• You can stop using HighlightGPT at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension.
• Request access or deletion of data we hold by emailing support@jiqiren.ai.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, such as encryption in transit and access controls, to protect data we process. If we detect a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and relevant authorities where required by law.

Children

HighlightGPT is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to HighlightGPT or applicable privacy laws. Material changes will be dated above and, where feasible, communicated within the product experience.
